Teachers

DanceWeb specializes in a high quality, teaching curriculum.

Our teachers are the best in the business, have trained a wide array of students in differing styles for national and international competitions, dance examinations and shows.

Jamal
Hi! I teach hip hop, newschool, lyrical and R&B. I find inspiration in martial arts, comedy and cartoons. I believe in originality so when everybody is chasing a trend I tend to focus my attention in the opposite direction!

Kristy

I am a contemporary teacher and choreographer at DanceWeb. I am passionate about contemporary dance because I feel it gives me strength, versatility and inspiration to interpret music through movement and dance freely.

Mandy
I live to dance and love to share it with the world! I’m an accomplished world champion, but I am still humbled by the honour every time I dance to represent my country.

I love teaching hip hop, show and salsa. I’ve been trained in classical ballet and modern jazz with CAFDA, and Latin and ballroom dancing with Gladys Bullock. I’m also a hip hop dance associate with SADTA.

I believe a dancer should be versatile in all styles, as this creates a greater platform to shine!

Dancing! Dancing! It’s my passion! I love meeting new people, being around positive and optimistic people. I love laughing and if I can inspire one person with my dancing then my gift is more than a blessing!

I love encouraging youth because I believe our future generations need to be motivated, and there’s no medium better for than than dance!

I’m a huge fan of Beyoncé! Well, only ever since the video for Single Ladies was released, and might I proudly add, that I know the ENTIRE video (^^,)

I am a work of creative movement; an art in the making. I love choreographing to the best artists in the music industry and I feel like dance makes me breathe. I love teaching hip hop, lyrical and new school, as well as representing SA and promoting dancing in our country. Basically, I dance in my sleep!

Craig

I’m a three-time world champion choreographer and coach, an international adjudicator, and generally just a dance and music master genius at work! I enjoy choreographing to any music – I love creating out-of-the-box movement and show stopper  routines!

The youth of this country inspire me to be the best at what I do. You will find me at DanceWeb everyday, teaching hip hop, new school and salsa.

Mullin
I was born in Zimbabwe, but I live in SA. I teach popping and funk stylz. I love working with dancers of all ages and all walks of life. Dancing motivates me and keeps me thinking creatively – it makes me hopeful. My class is fun, energetic and on the cutting edge!

Bash
Dance is my love, because it chose to love me first. It compliments who I am – it’s an extension of my character, passed on through my genes and the reason why I live. I can’t stop – I move in a way that is not humanly possible and make people question what they see! My heart is officially synchronized to the beat of the music, so join me for krump lessons at DanceWeb!

Paul
I am a dancer and a choreographer at DanceWeb and have been part of the family for four years. In 2009 I was crowned IDO World Champion, but I’ve still got street cred with the street dancers.

I specialize in popping and can do other street styles such as krumping, hip hop, locking and breaking and housing. At DancWeb, I teach popping and locking classes.

My aim as a dancer is to cultivate talent among the youth, motivating them to improve, inspiring them with the art of dancing, and to enforce the history and foundation in each and every dancer.

You don’t need to write a book to be an author – a dance is a poem of which each movement is a word!

Penny
I’m currently the managing director of the Kasi Ballet Theatre, a section 21 company based in Alexandra, Johannesburg. Through my work with the Kasi Ballet, I’ve inspired a large number of youths in underprivileged communities to get involved in dance.

Amongst my many activities and accolades I’m most proud of being responsible for organising the FIFA Street Football World Festival in Alexandra in 2010 and winning the Oprah Magazine 2008: “Real Woman Making a Real Difference” award.

Sherry-Lynn
I’m an associate member of SADTA Stage Branch, and currently completing my undergraduate qualification in Kinesiology. I find that combining my knowledge of both dance and body produces a successful formula for understanding bodily movement.

I love teaching at DanceWeb – it’s the place to be! One of my biggest accomplishments was coaching a 16-and-over all girls team and took them from beginner competitors to number one in championships and into the World Trial Circuit. My best dance memory is going to Germany in 2011 and being part of the first SA hip hop formation team to bring back a gold medal!

Nordika
I’m a woman of many talents! I’m an experienced physiotherapist, having worked in the cardiothoracic ICU in three different hospitals in Pretoria. I’m incredibly passionate about dancing and have been shaking my moves since the age of five!

Some of my favourite achievements include qualifying for the World Trial Circuit and representing South Africa in the World Champs five times. Over the years my teams have received various gold, silver and bronze medals. In 2010 we received Vice World Championship status and in 2011 we were granted World Championship status.

Triston aka Twist
I’m a fearless b-boy that will take on the world! I’m currently ranked fourth in the IDO World Breakdancing Championships where I represented South Africa.

I’m also a proud member of A.i and enjoy fusing hip hop dancing and breakdancing together, forming creative and original routines. Chances are you’ll find me at DanceWeb doing a b-boy jam!

Flip
I’m the breakdancing instructor at DanceWeb! Catch my class on a Tuesday at 16:30 and Thursday at 17:30. I’ve attended the 2010 Germany World Street Dance Championships where I participated in international dance workshops.

Juan

Passion and movement. Passion and movement are the reasons why I love to dance and teach. Passion when you see your students grow and are able to pass on what they have learnt and also to see that same passion they have for the love of dance. When it comes to a movement, dance is also a sport that should not be taken. Dance is my world. Dance is my life.
